Hi and welcome to Shore Kennels.
My name is Barbara Orr and like many of us the first thing I did when I moved away from home was to purchase a dog. That was way back in 1988. My first choice would have been an Irish Setter but my yard wasn't that big so I opted for something a little smaller. I was soon the proud owner of an English Springer Spaniel puppy. There was no looking back for me. I am hooked on this breed. They are perfect after all! They are medium size, enough hair to be beautifull but not so much that it is a lot of work, they love everybody but will bark when someone is at the door, they are very easy to train and love to please you, and they are very adaptable to your lifestyle, if you run all day, they will run all day, if you are a coach potato they are a coach potato.
After finding out that not all Springers are created equal I decided to breed my dog so that other people could have as wonderfull a dog as I had. My priorities are as follows: 1st temperment, 2nd hips, 3rd eyes, epilepsy, etc, and 4th conformation.
I also got hooked on obedience and conformation showing and so far have bred and owner handled 71 dogs to their Canadian Championship and 26 to their American Championship.
I now professionally handle all breeds and so far have won 9 all breed BIS's on 4 diferent dogs. I place in the groups regularly in Canada and the US.
I presently breed English Springer Spaniels, and French Bulldogs.
Shore Kennels is a one person operation so it is not very large.
